One year anniversary of spinal cord surgery

It has been exactly a year since my spinal cord surgery. So I figured what better time to reflect on the last year or so. Since last October I have experienced pain and agony that I did not think was achievable. The feeling that I felt directly out of the 4 hour surgery feeling the worst pain I have ever felt. The surgeon had told me that it would be a "spinal cord legion". Which is fancy for a spinal cord injury. Having felt that followed by laying completely flat for four days in a neuroscience center, I felt so vulnerable. I went from being an invincible teenager to a spinal cord injury patient in a wheelchair at physical rehab.

But looking back, as I am about to go out to guitar class and not into surgery at least gives me hope that I made it this fr through all the ups and downs.
